Erika Schnatz Schnuncan Family Portrait

By day, Erika is a Senior Production Artist at Image Comics, assisting with the design and production of single issue comics, trade paperbacks, and hardcovers. On evenings and weekends she works on a variety of personal projects involving an odd cast of characters.

Erika holds a Master’s in Book Publishing from Portland State University. While she was a graduate student, she served as the Design & Production Manager at Ooligan Press and acted as Art Editor for the Portland Review.

In 2010, Erika graduated from Montclair State University with a BFA in Illustration and Animation. She authored and illustrated a 32-page children’s book entitled Career Day with Cornelia May for her senior thesis project. Select pages from the book were shown at the 2010 BFA Gallery Show at the George Segal Gallery, and Erika received the Excellence in Animation & Illustration award from Montclair’s Department of Art & Design. In the summer of 2013, she won a lot of PBR swag and a smidgen of Instagram popularity for creating the winning piece in a Pabst Blue Ribbon-sponsored art contest.

In her spare time she enjoys reading, listening to podcasts, traveling, and writing about herself in third person. She currently lives in Portland, Oregon, with her wonderful husband and the cutest (and least well-behaved) dog in the world.
